Lotte Global Logistics' new CEO Kang Byoung-ku pledged to take its logistics networks to a new level for oversea expansion while tapping into cross-border e-commerce business on his first day in office.
“I promise to establish Lotte Global Logistics as a leading company in the global logistics industry through challenge and innovation,” said Kang during his inauguration speech on Friday.
To achieve this, Kang outlined four key strategies.
Kang emphasized a focus on differentiating customer service while expanding the logistics terrain to foster growth in the company's global business.
Additionally, Kang pledged to create new growth engines by developing high-value-added businesses, such as cross-border e-commerce, and to establish collaborative relationships with suppliers while ensuring seamless cooperation within the company.
“I will quickly respond to the changing business environment by enhancing the logistics network,” said Kang. "And I will achieve external growth and internal strengthening by clearly rewarding performance and establishing a transparent management environment so that all employees can demonstrate their capabilities."
With over 26 years of experience, Kang has established a substantial career in the logistics industry.
In 1998, Kang joined UPS and became the first Asian to serve as vice president in the global sales department of the US-based logistics company, occupying the role from 2016 to 2021.
Prior to joining Lotte Global Logistics, Kang also contributed his expertise to CJ Logistics, where he served as head of the global business department.
