A six-member girl group named Billlie debuted Wednesday with an EP titled “The Billage of Perception: Chapter One.”
The name of the band refers to the “B-side” of everyone’s personality.
The EP is based on a unique and strong narrative that will be carried forward in a series, said the bandmates, asking fans to keep an eye out for the messages they convey later.
Focus track “Ring X Ring” mobilizes a score of hit makers, as expected from the first girl group launched by musician/producer Yoon Jongshin, and depicts a mysterious incident in a village.
“The wailing siren in the intro part is a calling sign for us and also calls out for those of us out there,” explained band member Moon Sua.
“We’re all nerves since this is where we first introduce ourselves,” admitted bandmate Haram. “But we have each other’s backs. This is the beginning, and we’ll only strive to get better.”
Seventeen to drop music in Japan next month(Credit: Pledis Entertainment)
Seventeen will keep fans in Japan warm this winter with a special ballad.
The band is releasing “Ainochikara,” which translates to “Power of Love,” in Japan on Dec. 8, announced agency Pledis Entertainment on Wednesday.
The title track is the band’s first winter-themed song -- its message is that love can get us through cold and challenging times and help us find warmth and comfort. It’s also a ballad, the first in its Japanese repertoire, gently wrapping up the musicians’ yearlong “Power of Love” project.
The record also includes a Japanese version of “Home” from its sixth EP, “You Made My Dawn,” and “Snap Shoot” from its third studio album, “An Ode.”
Seventeen will unveil the new songs in advance on Nov. 18 at the Japanese edition of its digital concert, “Seventeen Concert Power of Love.”
Meanwhile, its ninth EP, “Attaca,” reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Oricon’s weekly albums chart for next week, two weeks after it landed atop the chart Nov. 1.

Tomorrow X Together is putting out its first EP in Japan on Wednesday, according to label Big Hit Music.
The EP, titled “Chaotic Wonderland,” consists of four songs, including the Japanese version of “0X1=LOVESONG” from its second full album, “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze,” and features vocalist Ikuta Lilas from the Japanese band Yoasobi.
Also included is “Ito,” written by Japanese band GReeeeN. This ballad is also the theme song for the Japanese TV drama “Spiral Labyrinth -- DNA Forensic Investigation,” which started airing last month.
The quintet debuted in Japan in January last year with “Magic Hour” and then released its second record, “Drama,” and its first LP, “Still Dreaming.” The band is the fourth international act to put four consecutive albums on Oricon’s weekly album chart -- “The Dream Chapter: Eternity,” “minisode 1: Blue Hour,” “Still Dreaming” and “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze.”
