South Korean aerospace manufacturer and defense company LIG Nex1’s employees visited the Philippines on Nov. 18 to take part in an educational campaign and honor Filipino soldiers who fought in the 1950-53 Korean War.

In collaboration with South Korean nonprofit organization World Human Bridge, the firm participated in a campaign that involved building a children’s library in Davao City on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.

The campaign aims to improve the educational environment for children in the area, according to LIG Nex1.

The five-day visit also included a meal with Filipino war veterans and their family members to express gratitude for their service. Around 50 veterans and family members gathered for the event.

Since last year, LIG Nex1 has been carrying out volunteer work to improve education in the Philippines and host fundraisers and events for Filipino war veterans. It plans to continue its activities honoring ally countries that offered help during the Korean War.
