The number of triplets born in South Korea more than doubled over a six-year period, a report showed Thursday, reflecting a national trend in multiple births.
The report was conducted by teams from the Catholic University of Korea and the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital based on data released by the Korean Statistical Information Service. The findings were based on more than 3.17 million infants born between 2009 and 2015.
