Kang Dae-sung, more widely known as Daesung of Big Bang, began his mandatory military service Tuesday.

Fans gathered outside the military camp to say goodbye to the star. A large number of the fans were Japanese as Daesung has established a successful solo career in Japan.
Appearing at the scene, Daesung greeted his fans before entering the base. He is to be discharged from the Army on Dec. 12, 2019.
He is the fourth member of Big Bang to enlist in the military, leaving only Seungri, who will start his military service after the release of his solo album later this year.
