A special tour pass exclusively designed for foreigners visiting South Korea during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics early next year will be available for purchase starting this week, the Seoul city government said Tuesday.
Discover Seoul Pass offers discounts of up to 50 percent at some 95 tourist destinations in the capital and the eastern province of Gangwon where the event is due to be held in February, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The tourist card gives free entrance to 21 tourist hotspots in central Seoul and special discounted offers at 13 other places including theaters and duty-free shops, the city government said.

It can also be used as a rechargeable, pre-paid transportation card, it added.
The foreigners-only tour pass is a special edition that comes with an additional package of various discounts and benefits for key travel destinations near PyeongChang, such as Daegwallyeong Sheep Ranch and Jeongseon Railbike. There are also numerous resort chains that are popular among locals as well as tourists.
The price for a Discover Seoul Pass is set at 39,900 won ($36) for a 24-hour pass, and 55,000 won for a 48-hour pass, and they will be available until March 31, the city government said. (Yonhap)
