South Chungcheong Gov. An Hee-jung of the Democratic Party continued to narrow the gap with front-runner Moon Jae-in, the party's former head, in approval ratings among presidential hopefuls, a poll showed Monday.
According to the data compiled by Realmeter, An posted an approval rating of 20.4 percent last week, up 3.7 percentage points on-week.

Moon Jae-in continued to lead the poll with 32.5 percent, but his figure dropped 0.4 percentage points.
Acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, who is favored by the conservative bloc, posted 14.8 percent, down 0.5 point.
Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo of the People's Party posted 8.8 percent, trailed by Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party with 8.1 percent. Rep. Yoo Seong-min of the Bareun Party, which spun off from the ruling Liberty Korea Party, held 3.9 percent.
By party, the Democratic Party posted an all-time high approval rating of 47.7 percent. The Liberty Korea Party managed to post
15.1 percent, followed by the People's Party with 11.5 percent. The Bareun Party and the Justice Party posted 5.6 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively.
The survey was conducted on 2,521 voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points. (Yonhap)
