Hyundai Rotem, the train-making unit of Hyundai Motor Group, reported on Sept. 30 that it has signed a 203 billion won (US$185 million) contract to supply train cars to Tunisia.
The South Korean firm will supply 112 train cars starting in the second half of 2018 under the contract with the Tunisian government, the company said.

Hyundai Rotem also won a similar deal, valued at 168 billion won, from Tunisia in 2007. With the latest deal, Hyundai Rotem said it will strengthen its presence in the African region. The South Korean firm has bagged deals from Senegal, Sudan and other African nations to provide a total of 1,336 train cars.
Hyundai Rotem said it has clinched 2.8 trillion won worth of deals so far this year.
