Singer-songwriter and TV personality Jung Joon-young is being investigated over an alleged sexual offense.

Jung’s ex-girlfriend, who has remained anonymous, filed for charges against the 27-year-old on Aug. 6 for secretly filming her during the couple’s sexual activities earlier this year, according to prosecutors on Saturday. However, the unidentified woman dropped her accusation a few days later.

“I sincerely apologize for causing inconvenience to my colleagues and co-workers,” said Jung at a press conference held at Novotel Ambassador Gangnam in Seoul on Sunday. “Regarding my broadcast appearance, I plan to abide by the decisions of related officials.”

“Should there be additional investigation into the case, I plan on cooperating with it truthfully and sincerely,” he added.

In questioning, Jung is said to have admitted to police he recorded the couple’s sexual activities, but that he mistakenly believed his then-girlfriend had consented to the filming. Jung testified to having deleted the footage immediately afterward.

Jung, of rock band Drug Restaurant, first gained public recognition after appearing and taking home third place on the fourth season of Mnet’s music competition show “Superstar K” in 2012. He is also a regular guest on various TV programs, including KBS2’s variety show “Two Days, One Night” and season two of tvN’s cooking show “Mr. Baek the Homemade Food Master.”

Prosecutors plan to reinvestigate the charge against Jung.
