LG Electronics said Aug. 30 that it will hold a showcase event for the V20 smartphone, a new flagship handset, on Sept. 7 in Seoul, the same day Apple is scheduled to launch its new iPhone and Plus variant.
LG’s plan for the launch event is thought to be an apparent move to dampen the heightened excitement for the new iPhone here.
LG Electronics’ V10 smartphone
LG’ mobile communications chief Jo Jun-ho will be present at the event to deliver a keynote speech, according to the tech giant.
The V20 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch screen, a 4,000-mAh battery, a 20megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8MP dual-lens front camera.
Apple’s new iPhone, presumably iPhone 7, will likely feature a 4.7-inch display, a 12MP rear-facing camera and a 1960-mAh battery while the iPhone 7 Plus will be fitted with a 5.5-inch display, a 12MP dual-lens camera, and a 2910-mAh battery.
