The 22-year-old star was placed on the fashion magazine‘s stylish Olympic athletes’ list with four others -- American track and field star Allyson Felix, Canadian tennis champion Eugenie Bouchard, American sabre fencer ace Ibtihaj Muhammad and British track and field star Jazmin Sawyers.

“As one of the world’s foremost rhythmic gymnasts, it’s clear that Son Yeon-jae knows how to move. But she also understands the appeal of a flashy outfit,” writes Vogue, in its article.

It reads, “When performing, Yeon-jae wears the elaborate costumes favored by her sport, but during her personal time, she’s more of a jeans and T-shirt girl. Yeon-jae’s closet is full of denim cutoffs, floral rompers and pastel purses with a variety of Korean labels, and it‘s beyond cute.”

Son’s Instagram address and photo were posted in the margins of the online article.

Along with the now-retired figure skating queen Kim Yu-na, Son has enjoyed an uncontested popularity among corporate marketers of conglomerates. Son has modeled for a number of the country‘s top-selling retailers, including LG Electronics, KB Financial Group, Maeil Dairies, The North Face and Fila.

Flying high in the marketing field, Son is hoping to win her first Olympic medal at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics. The gymnast has been training in Brazil since her arrival on July 28.

The rhythmic gymnastics competition starts Aug. 19. (Yonhap)
