Actor Ma Dong-seok, singer and actor Seo In-guk and singer and actress Choi Soo-young are set to star on the OCN’s first Friday-Saturday TV series “Squad 38.”
“Squad 38” centers on a task force that uses the extraordinary measure of “white swindling” to collect taxes from those who evade large tax sums.
In the upcoming comedy-drama series, a fair-minded tax collector (Ma Dong-seok) becomes frustrated with injustice and recruits “Squad 38,” a task force to swindle the tax evaders. After a clever swindler (Seo In-guk) is recruited as the first member, the two team up with ex-thieves to hunt down tax evaders. A passionate civil servant (Choi Soo-young) also joins the squad to collect about 6 billion won ($5.1 million) of evaded taxes.

“I thought it could be thrilling and satisfying to hunt down the evildoers, tax evaders in this series, and achieve social justice, which rarely happens in real life,” said director Han Dong-hwa at a press conference held at Yeongdeungpo Times Square on Wednesday.
“It seems dramatic to team up a public official and a swindler, but the plots bear resemblance to what we can easily witness every day,” Seo added.
“Squad 38” will be broadcast on OCN at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, starting June 17.
