“Europe is an appealing market for the Ioniq models since it emphasizes the importance of environment,” said a company official.

“We’ll first bring electric models into the market and then launch the hybrid version,” added the official.

Industry watchers expect the launch date to be in September.

According to the company, the sales of Ioniq EVsl will significantly benefit from the European Union’s policies, which promote the use of eco-friendly cars.

Many European countries, including Britain, Germany and France, give out subsidies to EV buyers, while lowering taxes to boost electric car sales.
