Ikea launches wireless charging furniture in Korea


Ikea Korea has launched a wireless-charging furniture collection that lets users charge their smartphones simply by placing their devices on built-in charging docks.

Ikea’s smart furniture collection includes a range of bedside tables, floor and table lamps as well as a do-it-yourself kit that lets users embed wireless chargers into any furniture of their choice.

All of Ikea’s wireless chargers are based on Qi wireless charging -- a global standard to which many smartphones adhere. It enables users to wirelessly charge a compatible device’s battery using induction transfer, simply by placing it on top of a wireless pad.

“Ikea’s wireless-charging furniture collection makes smartphone charging easy, convenient and fun,” said Bjorn Block, business leader of Ikea’s Home Smart project.

“The charging pads can be utilized anywhere in the house according to need. It also eliminates the need for cables and wires, improving the interior of a home.”

McDonald’s launches McLunch campaign for top 3 burgers

McDonald’s has launched a McLunch campaign featuring three of the fast-food chain’s most popular burgers: the Big Mac, the McSpicy Shanghai Burger, and the 1955 Burger.

From now until May 19, diners who visit between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. can enjoy french fries and a drink with their burger for an additional 300 won ($0.30).

The campaign was created to highlight the discount benefits that customers can enjoy during lunch hours at McDonald’s. The three top-selling burgers offer a particularly steep discount for the set menus.

CNP Cosmetics launches Propolis Ampoule Foundation

CNP Cosmetics, owned by LG Household & Health Care, has launched a new foundation infused with its popular Propolis Energy Ampoule.

The CNP Propolis Ampoule Foundation SPF30/PA++ combines the brand’s original foundation with its propolis ampoule to help users achieve moisturized and glowing skin tone.

Propolis is a resinous mixture collected by honey bees. It is known to be high in antioxidants and anti-microbial properties. The substance is often used in skin care products, as it reportedly helps create brighter skin tone and reduces wrinkles.
