Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, one of Korea’s leading power equipment makers, signed a memorandum of understanding with state-run Korea Electric Power Corp. on Friday to jointly tap the wind power market overseas.

Under the memorandum, Doosan Heavy will provide wind power generators to overseas wind power projects won by KEPCO, the company said in a press release.
The key affiliate of Doosan Group developed the nation’s first 3-megawatt offshore wind power plant system in 2011.
As of now, it is operating and building wind power plants that amount to a total capacity of 207 MW.
KEPCO has expanded its wind power business overseas. In December 2015, it obtained an order from Jordan’s National Electric Power Company to build an 89.1MW-class wind power plant in the Fujeij area.
