Kim Dong-won, the second son of Hanwha Group chairman Kim Seung-youn, shared his views on communications and technology with Asian young leaders at the so-called Asian version of Davos Forum in China this week.

Group officials said junior Kim, currently head of Fintech and Innovation Center at Hanwha Life Insurance, discussed the theme of “redefining distance” with other panelists invited to the Young Leaders Roundtable during the Boao Forum for Asia on Tuesday.

Kim had been selected as a Korean young leader to attend the forum at Hainan Dao, China, in which promising leaders from business, government, and academia are invited to discuss pending issues in Asia.

During Kim’s stay in China, he also met with representatives of Ant Financial, a $60 billion worth payment subsidiary of Alibaba Group known for its Alipay payment platform, and Anbang Insurance, one of China’s top five insurance companies, to discuss about the future of fintech and new growth engine industries, according to the Hanwha officials.

He also participated in a signing ceremony between Hanwha Life and Wanda Group, China’s largest commercial property company, to foster start-ups for global expansion.
