BMW INTRODUCES BMW X1 -- BMW Korea launched the second-generation X1 with more interior space, a new heads-up display and a parking assist program. The 4 wheel-drive sports activity vehicle is priced from 56.3 million won ($45,300).

VOLKSWAGEN LAUNCHES POLO PREMIUM -- Volkswagen Korea launched the Polo Premium, a redesigned version of its popular compact hatchback, Polo. Embracing the latest downsizing trend, the car is installed with a 1.4-liter turbocharged direct injection engine and seven-speed direct shift gearbox transmission leading to a maximum output of 90 horsepower and a maximum 23.5 kilogram-meters. The Polo Premium is priced at 28.7 million won ($23,100).

NEW MINI CLUB MAN ARRIVES IN KOREA -- BMW Korea released the New MINI Clubman diesel lineup, comprised of the New MINI Cooper D clubman, the New MINI Cooper D Clubman high trim and the New MINI Cooper SD Clubman, which have enhanced engine output and torque. The car is 5 centimeters longer than its previous models -- 4.25 meter long and 1.8 meter wide -- and is installed with the signature eight-speed steptronic transmission.

HYUNDAI TO UNVEIL IONIQ LINEUP IN GENEVA -- Hyundai Motors said it will introduce the full lineup for its eco-friendly brand, Ioniq, at the Geneva International Motor Show from March 3-13 in Switzerland. Those scheduled to be introduced are the Ioniq hybrid electric vehicle, electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The HEV and PHEV models will be adjusted with a 1.6-liter Kappa gasoline direct injection engine and the six-speed dual clutch transmission, aiming at providing the dynamic driving experience to the drivers.

LEXUS TO UNVEIL NEW COUPE IN GENEVA -- Lexus, a high-end brand under Toyota, will unveil its luxury coupe, the LC500h, at the Geneva International Motor Show. The car will be released in the market in spring 2017. The hybrid model of the LC500 has improved responsiveness over the predecessor hybrid cars and a six-cylinder 3.5-liter V engine that is expected to offer more dynamic drivability.

RENAULT SAMSUNG HOLDS ROADSHOW -- Renault Samsung Motors held a six-day roadshow across the country to show its latest model, the SM6, at more than 20 cities. The company is also conducting a photo gallery tour event through its Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/RenaultSamsungM).

ASTON MARTIN HOLDS DRIVING EVENT -- Aston Martin Kiheung International, official Korean importer of the British supercar Aston Martin, held a Driving Experience event for Aston Martin drivers on Feb. 24 at the Inje Speedium track in Gangwon Province. Rupert Crook, the authorized instructor at Aston Martin, joined the event to provide in-depth information on driving some of the most famous models including the Vanquish, the Rapide S, the DB9 and the V12 Vantage.
