Global energy intelligence software and services provider EnerNOC said Tuesday it has appointed Kim Hyoung-min, former vice president of the British America Tobacco, as head of its Korean unit.
Kim, 50, started his career as a reporter at the English-language newspaper Korea Times, and later served as a secretary of the late President Kim Dae-jung while handling foreign press relations at Cheong Wa Dae.

He worked as an advisor at law firm Kim & Chang from 2008 to 2010, before serving as vice president at the tobacco company from 2010 to 2014.
EnerNOC Korea, which launched in 2014, has partnered with state-run corporations and large companies here for electricity management.
