Shinsegae officially opened a new duty-free store in Incheon International Airport on Tuesday, offering some 300 brands to those traveling in and out of South Korea.
“Shinsegae Duty Free will feature a range of new brands in a new store concept unseen among existing duty-free shops in the country,” said Shinsegae DF president Sung Young-mok.

Established by Shinsegae Group after winning the duty-free operating rights to the country’s biggest airport in February, the stores feature popular brands including MCM, Coach, Montblanc, Bally and Tod's, as well as a wide range of fashion items and accessories.
Mindful of travelers on a busy schedule, Shinsegae has designed its shops as “one-stop shopping islands” featuring various fashion items, jewelry, sunglasses and other goods, all in one place.
The stores located in front of Gate 3 were designed as select accessory shops that offer diverse fashion accessories like sunglasses, bags, watches and jewelry.
Meanwhile, the shop across from Gate 42 features popular food items, including chocolates and red ginseng, as well as a range of fashion accessories.
Seeking to differentiate itself from its competitors, Shinsegae has also opened the first Gentle Monster sunglasses store and an experience center showcasing and selling Breo’s portable goods at the airport.
The duty-free operator has also set up a space displaying and selling GoPro action cameras and drones, aiming to attract male travelers.
In celebration of its opening, Shinsegae DF has also joined hands with MasterCard to offer customers diverse benefits throughout this month and January.
All customers who make a purchase using a MasterCard under their own name will immediately be promoted to the “Gold” membership level, which offers a discount of up to 15 percent off duty-free purchases at Shinsegae until Dec. 30.
MasterCard users who make purchases from Dec. 18 to Jan. 17 will also be eligible to win free tickets to a 2015/2016 UEFA Champions League match as well as flight and hotel vouchers, among other gifts.
The duty-free operator said it was planning to add a number of new luxury brands to its stores in Incheon and complete all construction by April 2016.
