LX shows off future of territory data services

The Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corp., or LX, attended the Smart Geospacial Expo 2015 held at The K-Hotel in Yangjae-dong, southern Seoul, from Sept. 15 to 17, officials said.

LX ran a “Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corporation Content Promotion Hall” at the expo and displayed the progression of Korea’s changing landscape over the past 40 years through satellite images, and a hypothetical plan on land distribution in case of reunification.

Other contents included technology that displays a 3-D model of construction in order to protect cultural assets, as well as ways to use spatial data, among others.

Additionally, LX signed a memorandum of understanding with Sri Lanka and Tanzania on land administration after holding working-level forums with respective officials, and planned to host a variety of seminars, workshops and academic events.

“I hope the expo was a good opportunity for Koreans to see the level of territory information and spatial data in the country,” said LX CEO Kim Young-pyo.

The Smart Geospacial Expo held its eighth annual expo this year, and brings awareness of spatial data to citizens and supports spatial data businesses looking to expand overseas. The expo was co-organized by the Ministry of Land, LX and Korea Land and Housing Corp.
