Mother & Daughter bonding event at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill

Sheraton Grande Walkerhill will hold a special dinner party for mothers and daughters on Friday at the European restaurant Clock 16. The “Merry Mother’s Day” event will start with a seven-course dinner, featuring grilled shrimp and tenderloin as the main dish. The dinner will be followed by a jazz performance and a lecture by dermatologist Seo Gu-il, secretary general of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery, with tips for youthful skin. Each mother-daughter team will receive a bottle of wine and a bottle of sunblock. The hotel is also collecting thank-you letters written by daughters for their moms. Caviar, truffles and champagne at The Westin Chosun Seoul

The Westin Chosun Seoul’s Japanese restaurant Homuran is offering a year-end special menu, featuring caviar, truffles and champagne until Dec. 31. The sets featuring the world’s best delicacies are available for lunch and dinner. The lunch set menu (80,000 won) features tuna avocado tartare with truffle; grilled pen shell and caviar salad in truffle oil; octopus and oyster shabu-shabu; a bowl of rice topped with sea urchin and crab meat; truffle soba; and dessert. For dinner (120,000 won), seasonal sashimi and beef striploin steak with ankimo (monkfish liver) will be added to the lunch menu. Homuran is also offering three kinds of champagne to complement its caviar and truffle dishes -- the pinot noir champagne Andre Clout, Un Jour de 1911; Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label; and French Moet & Chandon’s most iconic champagne, Moet & Chandon, Imperial Brut. Fugu specialties at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul

JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul’s buffet restaurant Tavolo 24 is presenting seasonal fugu dishes until Jan. 31. Despite its reputation as the world’s most dangerous food on account of the fish’s deadly poison, fugu is rich in high-quality protein and vitamins B1 and B2 and can be enjoyed without concern when it’s handled by a professional chef. It’s also a popular ingredient in many traditional Asian dishes. Guests can enjoy fugu sashimi, crispy fugu tempura, fugu soup and fugu salad all prepared by the hotel’s Japanese chef for the usual buffet price of 100,000 won. Artworks on display at Grand Ambassador Seoul

Grand Ambassador Seoul will display artworks in hotel rooms from Dec. 26-28 during the annual hotel art fair. The third edition of the Blanc Blue Hotel Art Fair will feature more than 2,000 artworks in 90 guestrooms. Artworks will be placed on the bed, by the window and in the bathroom, helping visitors decide which artworks will match their home interiors. The art fair will expand to the fifth, sixth and seventh floors this year, presenting diverse artworks by 120 Korean and foreign artists. Through a lucky draw event, visitors will have a chance to win a roundtrip airline ticket, hotel accommodation vouchers, and concert and exhibition tickets. Proceeds from ticket sales and catalogues will be donated to Plan Korea, a charity organization for alleviating poverty and protecting the rights of children. Admission is 10,000 won. Greet New Year at Conrad Seoul

Conrad Seoul will hold a year-end party on Dec. 31 on the 37th floor of the hotel. The grill and restaurant floor will transform into a party hall with a panoramic view of the Hangang River and the city. DJ performances and live music will heighten the festive mood throughout the party, which lasts until 2 a.m. on Jan. 1. The hotel is offering a “Countdown 2015 Package” for guests who want to stay overnight. The package includes party tickets for two, welcome cocktails at the 37 Bar, access to the fitness center and swimming pool, and a late check-out at 1 p.m. The year-end party ticket is 70,000 won per person, which includes one welcome cocktail.
