GS Homeshopping vice chairman Huh Tae-soo

GS Group promoted Huh Tae-soo, chief executive officer of GS Homeshopping, to vice chairman of the country’s largest home shopping company, officials said Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the country’s eighth-biggest conglomerate by assets carried out its annual executive-level reshuffle of 29 personnel.

The company said Huh, 57, who has been serving as the CEO of the home shopping firm since 2007, showed outstanding leadership by retaining the industry’s No. 1 spot despite a less-than-positive business environment.

“The CEO has also been contributing to spreading innovative culture in the group by developing creative business models such as mobile commerce and overseas expansion,” GS Group said in a press release.

Huh is a younger sibling of GS Group chairman Huh Chang-soo.

GS Holdings Corp. CEO Jung Taik-keun

The group also promoted current GS Global CEO Jung Taik-keun to CEO of GS Holdings Corp.

Suh Kyung-suk, CEO and vice president of GS Holdings, will step down as CEO to focus on the group’s overall management as the vice president.

“This year’s executive-level reshuffle was aimed at maximizing sales capacity and efficiency of the group’s major businesses, while maintaining stability within the organization,” the company said.
