Hanwha Group director Kang Ki-soo

Hanwha Group’s public relations director Kang Ki-soo was named Public Relations Person of the Year by the Korea Public Relations Association last week, the organization said Wednesday.

As the head of Hanwha’s communications team, Kang contributed to improving the company’s status by partaking in various activities such as media and online promotion, social responsibility activities and cultural art support programs, the association said.

The director also served as president of the Korean Accredited Public Relations, a group of over 700 PR experts who were selected and fostered by the Korea Public Relations Association for the last decade.

Meanwhile, the KPRA issued the Ministry of Employment and Labor with the Korean Public Relations Award for its “Ability Comes Before Age” PR employment campaign for helping the middle-aged find jobs.

The association also gave awards to other companies in seven PR sectors.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Diamond Hall of Plaza Hotel in central Seoul on Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m., the PR association said.
