Standard Chartered Bank Korea, one of the top two foreign banks here, is holding online lottery events to promote its Outreach Banking Service, a one-stop financial service for customers who find it difficult to visit offline bank offices.

The new system, which kicked off in July, allows customers to schedule a visit of professional banking consultants at a designated time and place.

With the aid of a tablet PC and an encoded network, the consultants will be able to provide key banking services, ranging from opening new accounts to long-term fund management.

To promote the service, SC Bank kicked off lottery events via its website earlier this month. It will last until Sept. 21, according to officials.

“We hope to promote the new concept of outreach banking and to express our thanks to our customers,” said Kim Jong-hoon, SC Bank’s digital banking director.

“SC Bank will continue to invest in digitalization and the expansion of our range of online financial products.”

Visitors to the website can take quizzes on the Outreach Banking Service to enter a contest for gift cards. Others who previously signed up for the banking service can enter to win an iPad mini.

Applicants can take part in both the quiz and the lottery for the iPad mini, but they would have to forfeit one of the gifts if they win both, officials explained.

Winners will be announced on the bank’s website on Sept. 22-23.

More details on the SC Outreach Banking may be found on the website (www.sc.co.kr/go) or by phone (1566-1166).
