늑대에게 공격당해 11살 때부터 치아가 입 밖으로 튀어나오고 제대로 된 입술이 없는 남자가 드디어 수술이 가능하게 되었다고 외신이 보도했다.
우 쑈우요우(65세, 중국)은 11살 때 늑대로부터 공격을 받아 입 전체를 물려 뜯겼다. 그 후로부터 액체류만 섭취할 수 있었고 외모 때문에 학교도 다니지 않고, 결혼도 못하고 직장도 못 얻었다고 한다.
다행히도 의료진은 그를 도울 수 있다고 한다. 지금까지 해본 수술 중 가장 어려운 수술이 될 것으로 예상하지만 10개의 다양한 의료분야에서 일하는 20명의 의사들과 함께 진행하는 수술이라 큰 문제는 없을 것으로 보고있다.
윗입술과 아랫입술과 없는 입 근육을 복구한 후에 치아도 함께 복구될 예정이라고 한다.

Doctors restore mouth to man disfigured by wolf attack
A man disfigured by a wolf attack when he was 11 has the chance to have his face restored, according to the Daily Mail. The attack left him with no visible mouth and his teeth protruding from his face.
Wi Xiuyou (65, China) couldn’t live a normal life since the day of the wolf attack. Since then he has survived on a liquid diet, “didn’t attend school, never got married, never got a job and lives by himself.”
Luckily, doctors are able to help Wi. Despite the fact it will be the most difficult surgery his main doctor, Dr. Chen Fei, has done, it is possible through the help of 20 doctors from different medical areas.
Doctors say that they are planning to reconstruct his upper and lower lips and replace the missing facial muscles using grafts.
