Ahn Jung-hwan
Former soccer star Ahn Jung-hwan has signed a contract with local TV broadcaster MBC for a stint as a soccer commentator, the TV channel said Thursday.
He will join former national team coach Huh Jung-moo and another retired national team player, Song Jong-gug, in MBC’s panel of commentators for the coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil in June.
Ahn shot to stardom when the striker scored the winning golden goal for Korea against Italy in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Seoul. He played for Korea in two more World Cups in 2006 and 2010 before retiring in 2012.
