영화 패션왕 캐스팅 확정, 혜진역에 소희 대신 박세영 낙점

주간 조회수 400만에 이르는 화제의 웹툰 ‘패션왕’을 원작으로 한 영화 ‘패션왕’의 캐스팅이 5일 오전에 공개됐다.

영화 ‘작업의 정석’의 메가폰을 잡았던 오기환 감독은 촬영을 앞두고 “가장 주목 받고 있는 스타들과 함께 하게 되어 벌써부터 설레인다. 그리고 최고의 웹툰을 영화로 만들게 되어 기쁘다. 오랫동안 준비한 작품인만큼 원작의 재미를 영화적으로 잘 담아낼 것이다. 기대해 주셨으면 좋겠다”고 전했다.

영화는 ‘패션왕’의 주인공인 고등학생 우기명이 같은 반 얼짱 여학생에게 관심을 끌기 위해 같은 반 얼짱 여학생에게 잘 보이기 위해 패션에 눈을 뜨게 되는 이야기를 그린다.

주인공 우기명 역에는 최근 TV드라마와 영화, 뮤지컬까지 섭렵한 주원이 맡았고 상대역의 혜진 역에는 신인 박세영이 연기한다. 앞서 걸그룹 원더걸스 소희가 상대역으로 물망에 올랐지만 무산됐다.

그리고 주인공을 짝사랑하며 예뻐지고 싶어하는 같은 반 친구 은진 역에는 걸그룹 에프엑스의 설리가 낙점됐다.

우기명과 라이벌 구도로 대결을 펼칠 일명 학교 ‘짱’ 원호 역에는 드라마 '별에서 온 그대'에서 전지현의 남동생 역을 연기하고 있는 안재현이 맡게 되어 화제가 되고 있다.

한편 '패션왕'은 이번 달 크랭크인, 하반기 개봉을 목표로 촬영 준비 중이다.

Actors Joo Won and Park Se-young to join cast of “Fashion King”

Cast members for the upcoming film “Fashion King,” based on a popular webtoon that drew 4 million weekly views in Korea, was unveiled on Sunday.

“I look forward to translating the widely read webtoon into a film with popular stars. I hope my long preparation for the film will be able to convey the same feeling the original,” said the director Oh Ki-hwan.

The film is about a boy, played by actor Joo Won, who starts taking fashion seriously so he will look attractive to the girl he likes. Rookie actress Park Se-young was finalized to play Joo Won’s counterpart, though Sohee from K-pop girl group Wonder Girls was said to be a strong candidate for the role.

“Fashion King” will start shooting this month and is expected to be released later in the year.
