Local food conglomerate SPC Group has opened a Paris Baguette bakery outlet in New York City, the company said Monday.

This is its second launch in New York, following the first near Times Square early last month.

Located at Lexington Avenue and 52nd Street, the shop is situated near populous business districts and residential areas, the company said.

The store was mainly designed for takeout coffee in contrast to the spacious outlet at Times Square that allows customers to enjoy a view of Broadway.

“Considering that business districts are generally crowded in the morning and at lunchtime, we split (the store’s) entrance and exit,” an SPC Group official said.

“We will use the best practices at the Manhattan-based store to help other stores tapping into business districts down the road,” a U.S. Paris Baguette official said.

SPC Group is slated to enter into other states including Georgia, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland and Hawaii in 2014. The company plans to open some 1,000 stores across the United States by 2020.
