Coway contributing to healthy lifestyles

I would like to begin by expressing my earnest and deepest gratitude to The Korea Herald for having selected Coway’s “Have the Children Drink Clean Water” as one of the winners of the paper’s 2013 Advertising Awards.

We have made an effort to deliver a valuable message to our customers that may potentially bring fruitful changes to society. We produced this ad in the hope that everyone, especially our children, will drink pure water and instill a lifetime habit of doing so.

In reality, our children primarily consume beverages such as soda and energy drinks that include caffeine, sugar and other ingredients, while merely drinking one-third of the World Health Organization’s recommended daily intake of water. These wrong habits are detrimental to children’s health and lead to juvenile diabetes among other severe social problems.

In order to tackle the root of the problem, Coway commenced a six-month campaign involving 56 students from Gyomun Middle School to stop drinking harmful beverages and instead drink eight glasses of clean water a day.

Currently, five months into the experiment, we have already begun to see promising changes in the children’s physical and emotional health, giving us the opportunity to once again realize the importance of clean water and Coway’s social responsibility. We now long for everyone ― not just the students of Gyomun Middle School ― to embrace a similar habit and share the joys of a healthy lifestyle.

Coway will live up to its title as No. 1 in the industry by contributing to society and pursuing a favorable environment for all.
