MELBOURNE (AP) ― Eight-time PGA Tour winner Choi Kyung-ju and Bae Sang-moon will represent South Korea at the World Cup of Golf at Royal Melbourne, with Liang Wenchong and Wu Ashun set to play for China in the Nov. 21-24 tournament.
World Cup organizers said that Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat will be joined by India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar and Anirban Lahiri and the Philippines’ Angelo Que and Juvic Pagunsan.
Previously announced for the tournament were Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland, American Matt Kuchar and Italian Matteo Manassero.
The event features individual, stroke-play competition with a team component ― total scores of two-man teams. The qualification system for the event is similar to that which will be used at the 2016 Rio Olympics, when golf returns to the Games.
