Korean-American singer John Park recently held a joint performance with American pop duo Swan Dive in the middle of a traditional Korean market in Incheon for the recording of TV channel MBC Music’s “Picnic Live Sound, Landscape.”
Nashville-based Swan Dive, which appeared at a rock festival in Korea, made a special performance for the show, which aired Monday night.
The production team for “Picnic Live Sound, Landscape” wanted to arrange for an artist to perform with the duo and decided to invite singer-songwriter Park.
The show’s concept involves having artists perform in intimate venues where the distance between the stage and the audience is about 50 centimeters. Swan Dive wanted to perform in a traditional setting and thus the traditional market was chosen.
In July, Park, who first gained recognition for his appearance on audition programs “American Idol” and “Superstar K2,” released his first album “Inner Child” with five tracks he wrote himself, making a name for himself as a singer-songwriter. Prominent Korean artists such as Lee Jeok, Lee Sang-soon, Jung Won-young and Dynamic Duo’s Choiza participated in the making of the album.
Swan Dive debuted in 1997 with members Bill Demain and Molly Felder and is known for tracks “Circle” and “Automatically Sunshine.”
