South Korean acoustic band Sogyumo Acacia Band put out its fifth album “Slow Diving Table,” a gesture that departs from today’s hectic electronic music to get back to the raw sound where music started.
“People live in a world full of disturbing noises, but we wanted to awaken people to notice the beautiful sounds existing in them,” said group member Kim Min-hong.
Kim and fellow member Song Eun-ji wanted to offer healing sounds to fans by featuring sounds of nature merged into the tranquil acoustic music of the band.
The lead track, “Moment,” showcases the sounds at Arambol beach in India that Kim recorded by himself while traveling. The other 13 tracks include the sounds of a crowded subway in the city, water running down a concrete highway, dishes clattering in a kitchen sink and other unmanufactured sounds with potential to provide comforting effects.
“Open the window at 2:00 a.m., and listen to our tracks while looking up at the sky. Our music will sound ‘delicious,’” said the band.
