International School, Chadwick International

Chadwick International, located in Songdo, presents a diverse range of programs, of remarkable depth and breadth, for students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Opened in 2010, it is the second campus of Chadwick School, which was founded in 1935 in Palos Verdes, California, by Margaret Lee Chadwick.

Chadwick differentiates itself from other foreign and international schools with a “one school, two campuses” model, which means that both campuses are focused on the same mission, core values and educational philosophy. Both Chadwick School and Chadwick International focus on academic excellence, the development of exemplary character and self-discovery through experience. The two campuses also live in accordance with the core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, fairness, and compassion.

The “inquiry-based” education and curriculum of Chadwick International encourages students to solve problems and “learn by doing,” with a seminar-style approach as the primary means of instruction.

Chadwick develops in its students a deeper conceptual understanding, natural leadership skills, habits of mind, a global perspective and an emphasis on ethical character development in order to prepare them for the future opportunities of a global world.

Authorized to offer a globally recognized International Baccalaureate PYP Program, Chadwick is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and a contributing member of a number of American and global professional organizations.

In a learning environment with an exceptional teacher to student ratio of 1-to-8, more than 80 percent of its faculty members hold advanced degrees assuring both challenging content and active mentorship.

To support and challenge the students in their learning, the school is also equipped with state-of-the-art education facilities, including a Broadway type theater with 700 seats, an aquatics center, two gymnasia, and a TV studio that allows production of eight channels. Innovative technology ― such as one-to-one computing and the Cisco Tele-presence Room ― allows collaborative projects not only between students at Chadwick International and Chadwick School, but also with other teachers and students from around the world.
