With his new song “Gentleman” gaining popularity, South Korean rapper PSY’s fashion has attracted the international spotlight.
Global fans have been paying attention to what he wears in the “Gentleman” music video, which has garnered more than 220 million views on YouTube as of April 25.
He pursued a retro style in the video, just like in his previous success “Gangnam Style,” by wearing colorful, broad shoulder blazers and baggy pants that allow him to highlight his new dance move -- shaking his hips a la Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra.”
Also, his trademark rectangular-shaped sunglasses in “Gangnam Style” were switched for round ones.
One member of the Fashion Design Institute in Ewha Womans University said his fashion had become more glamorous and his black and white shirts evoked the image of “Gangnam Style,” indicating that he was mindful of consistency throughout his songs.

눈길 끄는 "젠틀맨" 속 "싸이 스타일"
가수 싸이의 패션 스타일이 그의 새 곡 ‘젠틀맨’의 인기에 힘입어 또 다른 화제를 낳고 있다.
’젠틀맨’ 속 위트 넘치는 싸이의 정장 패션 역시 음악 못지 않게 전세계 팬들의 눈길을 사로 잡고 있다.
‘강남 스타일’ 때 보다 재킷은 더 화려해졌으며 밑위가 길고 무릎 위부터 폭이 넓어지는 배기 팬츠는 ‘젠틀맨’의 안무를 더욱 강조한다.
‘강남 스타일’의 사각 선글라스는 원형 선글라스로 변형됐다.
이화여자대학교 패션연구소의 한 관계자는 이번 곡에서 싸이의 패션은 강남스타일 때보다 더욱 화려하고 독특해졌다면서 재킷 안에 흰색, 검은색 셔츠를 착용해 이전 뮤직비디오와 통일성과 연계성이 드러난다고 말했다. (코리아 헤럴드)
