A former Tennessee Titans cheerleader has been charged with molesting a 12-year-old boy at a friend's home in Murfreesboro.
A grand jury indicted Elizabeth Leigh Garner this week on charges including sexual battery and solicitation of a minor. Garner denies the charge, WTVF-TV, Nashville, reported Wednesday.
Garner allegedly followed the boy into a bathroom and fondled him.
A police report states she said she was drunk and confused the boy with a man who was also at the house.
"That's just absolutely no excuse for sexual assaulting a child. If you can't tell the difference between a 12-year-old and an adult then there are problems," said Kyle Evans, a spokesman for the Murfreesboro Police Department.
Garner was released on $30,000 bail.
When Garner joined the Titans cheerleading squad in 2008, she was hailed as a 38-year-old able to compete with women more than a decade younger. She is now 42 and no longer with the team.

테네시 내쉬빌 현지 언론은 13일 (현지시간) 엘리자베스 레이 가너 (32)가 미성년자에 대한 성적 폭력행사 혐의로 체포되었다고 보도했다. 가너는 혐의를 부인하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.
보도에 따르면 가너는 친구의 집을 방문하던 도중, 한 소년을 화장실에서 성추행했다고 한다. 가너는 이에 대해 소년을 추행할 의도는 없었으며 아이를 다른 성인 남성으로 착각했다고 해명했다.
사건을 담당한 머스프리스보로 경찰서 대변인 카일 에반스는 가너의 해명에 대해 “그 따위 것은 미성년자 성추행에 대한 핑계거리가 전혀 되지 못한다. 만약 12살 아이와 성인을 구별 못할 정도라면 문제가 심각한 것”이라고 지적했다.
가너는 보석금 3만 달러 (한화 약 3천3백만원)을 내고 풀려났다.
가너는 지난 2008년, 38세의 나이로 프로 미식축구 (NFL) 팀 테네시 타이탄스의 치어리더로 활동해 화제가 되었다.
