The spring/summer collection by Christian Dior’s new artistic director Raf Simons is on view in Seoul.
The French fashion house set up an in-store pop-up unit at multi-brand shop My Boon in Cheongdam-dong. The display presents Simons’ first ready-to-wear spring/summer collection for Christian Dior.
The collection focuses on the structured silhouette of Dior’s iconic “bar” jacket and hyper-feminine take on tailoring.
Dior’s “bar” suit, introduced in 1947, dubbed the “New Look” at the time, featured a structured silhouette with sloped shoulders, articulated bust, nipped waist and padded hips.
The Belgian designer incorporated movement, lightness, transparency and playfulness to his first ready-to-wear collection for Christian Dior, keeping the traditional silhouettes, according to the design house.
The pop-up store has on display pieces of the spring/summer collection as well as accessories presented in Paris last September. All items, except for accessories, are on sale.
The collection is on display at seven different shops around the world, including IT in Beijing, Joyce in Hong Kong, My Boon in Seoul, Colette in Paris, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Jeffery in New York and Maxfield in Los Angeles.
The pop-up store design is inspired by Raf Simons’ set at the Dior show in Paris.
The collection is on display until March 3 at My Boon in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam.
