How to fend off harassers in buses, subways (3)

1. A harasser approaches a woman from the back as shown in the picture, giving her very little or no personal space.

If the harasser continues to approach, then use the following defense technique to fend off the opponent.

2. If you are in a situation where you have your back to the harasser, push your stomach forward as shown in Picture 2 to make some room between the opponent and you.

3. Once you have some room, look over your shoulder to take a good look at the face of the opponent, then snap your hip backwards with full force as shown in Picture 3. This snapping action will startle your opponent.

This self-defense technique may make you laugh, but this technique is effective in fending off harassers that are close to you. Make sure you turn around to face the opponent straight in the eye to induce embarrassment. Harassers on public transportation do not like to be exposed.
