KCCI officials quoted Shin as responding that he would try to enhance the status of Korean companies on international stages and have the nation’s positions reflected better in setting global rules related to trade. His three-year term in WCF will start in January next year.

The WCF is the umbrella organization of 15,000 chambers from around the world.

The former head of Philips Electronics Korea, Shin is one of Korea’s most prominent business leaders. He has contributed to the development of the nation’s sports.
