The Gwangju International Center has set up Feel@Home, a homestay program for guests in Gwangju to stay with local families.
The program offers an affordable way to stay in Gwangju, with the chance to see how ordinary Koreans live.
The families were selected by the GIC, which has also given them a short training program.
Guests will be expected to make their own arrangements during regular business hours, as the home will not be available for use, unless otherwise agreed. Guests should arrive by 9 p.m.
The program costs 35,000 won per night, including breakfast, with 5,000 won charged for extra meals, and discounts for children under 10. There is free pickup.
To take part in a homestay, apply for the program at least a week in advance.
Details of the program and guidelines on how to apply can be found at eng.gic.or.kr/program/homestay.php. For more information, email gichomestay@gmail.com.
