The iPad Mini will be more like a larger version of the iPod Touch rather than a smaller version of the iPad.
Several industry sources speculated that the new gadget will not be a revolutionary redesign. However, it will have slimmer bezels along its sides to make for easier use and will also have a 7-inch screen, positioning it to rival Google’s popular Nexus tablet. What is to give the iPad Mini its edge is its rumored larger 4:3 display.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s Vice President, stated that the late Steve Jobs warmed up to the idea of entering the 7-inch market months before his death last year.
Apple watchers expect the launch of iPad Mini to be around the same time as the new iPhone 5 in September.

새로 출시될 것으로 예상되는 애플의 신작 ‘아이패드 미니’는 아이패드의 축소된 버전보다는 아이팟터치의 확대된 모습일 가능성이 클 것이라는 전망이다.
애플 정보 사이트 나인투파이브맥 등에 따르면 새로 출시될 제품은 혁신적인 디자인은 아니지만 제품 양 옆의 베젤이 더 얇고 7인치 스크린이 탑재될 것이라고 한다.
그러나 이 제품은 아이패드와 같은 4:3 화면 비율을 사용할 것이며, 따라서 구글의 넥서스 7과 같은 일반 7인치 태블릿보다 더 넓을 것이라고 예상되고 있다.
애플의 부사장 에디 큐는 고(故) 스티브 잡스가 생전에 ‘7인치 기기’ 시장에 진입하는 것을 고려했다고 전했다.
애플 애호가들은 아이패드 미니가 아이폰 5와 비슷하게 9월에 출시될 것으로 예상하고 있다.
