The Italian Cultural Institute unveiled the DIVE- 4 DIVAS exhibition in Seoul on Wednesday in celebration of 20th century Italian cinema.

The exhibit pays homage to four iconic Italian actresses, including Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale, and recognizes prominent film industry illustrators of the ‘50s and ‘60s.

The exhibit displays 36 original movie posters of the divas by these illustrators. The evocative and imaginative posters, with unique interpretations from each artist, lent to the mass phenomenon of cinema, according to the institute’s director Lucio Izzo.

Other features of the exhibit include original dresses worn by the actresses, set photos and an art piece for each actress. The art was especially created for the Seoul exhibit by Salvo Biondo and Paolo Campagnolo.

DIVE- 4 DIVAS opened on July 18 at The Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. For more information call 02) 2151-6520 or 02) 796-0634.
