McKinsey Seoul to get first Korean chief

McKinsey&Com-pany appointed a South Korean CEO for the first time.

The global consulting firm appointed on Monday director Choi Won-sik, 46, as office manager of the Seoul office. It is the first time the post has been taken by a Korean since McKinsey Seoul first opened here in 1991.

Choi is known to be an expert in globalizing local companies through M&A and projects concerning overseas launches.

Choi studied mechanical and aerospace engineering at Princeton University, U.S., and received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

McKinsey-&Company runs 99 offices in 56 countries.
