Kim Jae-ho, incumbent chairman and publisher of Dong-A Ilbo, a vernacular daily, was reelected Thursday to head the Korean Association of Newspapers.

Kim will serve as chairman of KAN until 2014.

“We need to have member companies united and more of their participation as the (business) environment of print media worsens,” Kim said after he was elected.

“I’ll put efforts into leading the development of the country’s journalism and news industry,” he added. Established in 1957, KAN is an organization of 46 dailies and news agencies in Korea.
