Yu Kyung-sun
The Korean Olympic Committee has appointed Yu Kyung-sun, chairman of Eugene Group, as head of the Korean team for the 2012 London Olympics.
The KOC board members approved Yu Tuesday as the head of Korean delegates to the London Summer Games, which is scheduled from July 27 to Aug. 12, according to the sport governing body.
Previously, Yu, 56, served as a vice president of the KOC from 2005 to 2009, and president of the Korea Triathlon Federation between 2000 and 2009.
He has also headed the Asia Triathlon Confederation since 2003, and served as a member of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics Committee from 2011.
“It’s a great honor to be part of the Korean team, but I also feel great responsibility. I’ll do my best to help athletes bring out their best,” Yu said in a statement. Yu will officially start his new role by visiting London in March for an inspection.
