Park In-bae, the former artistic director of the theater house “Hyeonjang,” was appointed the new CEO of the Sejong Center this week.
The 58-year-old, who majored in physics at Seoul National University, has served in many key positions in heavyweight organizations on Korea’s culture scene.
The groups include the Korean People Artist Federation and Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, as well as “Hyeonjang.”
Most recently, he served as a member of the Advisory Committee for Seoul mayor Park Won-soon, specializing in matters of culture and the environment.
The new CEO said he wants to improve the imagination and creativity of the members of Sejong Center, while trying to collaborate with Seoul’s diverse cultural organizations.
“By working closely with each and every district of Seoul and their culture centers, I hope to establish the Sejong Center as the hub of culture and arts,” he said during his inauguration ceremony at the Sejong Center in Seoul, on Tuesday.
Park’s three-year term ends in January 2015.
