Rhee Han-dae
KT Corp. said Friday that it has named Rhee Han-dae, 34, the new CEO of the company’s film and media business unit Sidus FNH.
After working at CJ Entertainment and consulting firm nPlatform, Rhee joined the group’s media strategy department at the nation’s largest fixed-line carrier in September 2010.
The company explained that he is a specialist in film investment and distribution who also has experiences in the U.S.
“My goal is making Korean films appeal to the global market based on the popularity of Korean pop culture. I will also make more efforts to strengthen KT’s contents competitiveness,” he said.
Rhee majored in sociology at Korea University and received his MBA at the University of Southern California Marshall.
Rhee becomes KT’s fifth CEO in his 30s. Most of them were presidents of venture companies that KT acquired as part of shared growth efforts with smaller businesses.
