A concert is being held this month to raise awareness and funds to help North Korean kids striving to fit in the South’s education system.
The Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights and the Beautiful Mind Charity will co-host the 5th Annual Beautiful Dream Concert on Aug. 27.
About 1,700 North Korean youths attend schools in South Korea, but many have difficulty adjusting to the competitive education system here as they did not receive a proper education in the North.

The NKHR aims to help defector youths adjust by providing additional educational, financial, and cultural support through programs such as the L4 Soccer Team, Hangyoreh Seasonal School, and the Defector College Student Leadership Camp. They also hope that these programs will help spread awareness of North Korean issues in South Korea and other parts of the world.
The concert to be held in Goyang Aram Nuri Music Hall in Gyeonggi-do from 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 27 will feature Go Mi-Hyun (soprano), Kim Chul-Woong (piano), Lee Sang-Jae (clarinet), Park Hyo-Shin (voice), and the National Military Symphony Orchestra.
