New Hyundai Elevator CEO

Hyundai Elevator on Tuesday elected former Otis Elevator executive Han Sang-ho as chief executive.

Han, 55, will be serving as CEO alongside Hyun Jeong-eun, the Hyundai Group chairwoman.

“To create a leading Korean company that also can be received as a global leader, I will be focusing on promoting ethical management, safety, quality control and securing the right talent,” the new CEO said in his inaugural speech.

Han previously was executive vice president at Otis Elevator Korea, the domestic branch of the world’s leading manufacturer of elevators.

Prior to that position, he was director of the Hong Kong and Taiwan region of LG Otis Elevator and also a top executive of the firm’s China region.

Han started his career in 1984 at LG Corp. in charge of developing the Chinese markets.
