‘Drunk’ Nick Cage arrested in New Orleans

LOS ANGELES (AFP) ― U.S. actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested in the southern city of New Orleans “after getting drunk” and having a heated argument with his wife in the French Quarter, police said.

The 47-year-old star had been “getting drunk ... in the French Quarter,” New Orleans police officer Garry Flot said in a statement. “He and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting,” Flot said. “She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address.”

Cage then struck vehicles and began to enter a taxi. Witnesses flagged police officers who “immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated, and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling,” Flot said.

He noted that Cage’s wife had no apparent injuries.

한국 여성과 결혼해 국내에서 ‘케서방’이라는 별명으로도 유명한 할리우드 스타 니콜라스 케이지(47)가 부부싸움을 벌여 경찰에 체포됐다.

16일(현지시각) 미국 현지 언론에 따르면, 니콜라스 케이지는 전날 뉴올리언즈 구시가지에서 아내 앨리스 김(27)와 다투다가, 신고를 받고 출동한 경찰에 의해 체포됐다.

만취한 니콜라스 케이지는 부인과 말다툼을 하다가 그녀를 밀치고 손목을 낚아채는 등 몸싸움을 벌인 것으로 알려졌다. 니콜라스 케이지는 체포 과정에서 경찰에 심한 불쾌감을 드러냈다.

한편, 아내 앨리스 김은 남편의 가정학대 혐의를 부인하고 처벌도 원치 않는 것으로 전해졌다.
