Ex-spy Anna Chapman to run for Russian parliament

According to British paper the Telegraph, Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper reported that the Russian prime minister has already penciled in Chapman as the next MP for the Volgograd region in southern Russia, where she was born and grew up.

Since December, Chapman has become one of the leaders of the youth wing of Putin’s party, trying to instill patriotism in young people.

Chapman, one of 10 spies deported from the U.S. last summer made headlines for her glamorous appearance.

Since returning to Russia, Chapman has become the host of her own weekly television program, done some modeling and trademarked her name inside the country. The Telegraph reported that she holds the rights to eight types of Anna Chapman products, including vodka, watches and clothing.
